How is this for being psyched?

Within 5 minutes of hearing that our offer on a house in Southbury, CT was accepted, I went a little crazy on Mapquest. Hopefully I will be able to hit all of these this season.

Ski Sundown - 57 min - pretty close. You may be able to do closer to 45 mins depending on how close to 84 you are
Mohawk - 59 min - also pretty close - maybe closer to 50 mins
Catamount - 1 hr 38 min - this seems far. I would guess 1:25 at the most...
Blanford - 2 hr - no clue
Jiminy - 2 hr 21 min - probably right on
Hunter - 2 hr 23 min - pretty close. Again based on proximity to 84, you might do better
Mt Snow - 2 hr 58 min - seems accurate
K-Mart - 3 hr. 59 min - seems accurate

Congrats! Let me adjust your times a bit. See above.

According to Microsoft Streets and Trips... Burke would only be 4 hours as well :-D (@ 70 mph on the interstate). 260 miles
I know it only take just over 3 hours to get there from Hartford.

You can escape the crowds of southern New England (see Killington)! :-D

Dually noted. Catamount and Sundown will be my main haunts. But I'm always looking to broaden my horizons, or is it verticals in this case? Sorry, couldn't resist the corny joke.

I'm starting to get really fired up for for Fall which inevitably gets me really fired up for winter! These drier days and evenings lately feel more like September. Loving this weather! 8) I'm even starting to see some color already; mostly on the trees that dry out first, but it's still a sign that Fall (and then winter :beer is on its way!

all these years, i never even considered burke. I assumed it was 4+ hours from hartford which is a bit over my limit for a day trip. Burke is definitely on the hit list for a midweek day for this year.

absolutely. The solitary car ride is not fun. Not so much going up, but coming home. Actually had a few scary drives home from killington where i felt like i was gonna fall asleep.

Depending on the timing, I will consider joining you guys. I'm always game to check out new places and I keep hearing how great Burke is.

Let me know if you make any plans. I also recommend Burke if you are considering a weekend trip as well. It is like skiing at most other places mid week. :beer:

Fall is also my second favorite season of the year, and if I wasn't a skier it would be my favorite.
