Yesterday was a lot of fun, mostly skied my Ellen. Called it quits around like 2:30, the combination of crowds, goggles being frozen and legs being shot was enough for me. Gonna ski again Tuesday, likely all LP. Buddy is coming up to ski Friday as well

Hopefully you ski longer than a half day on Tuesday.

Definitely will. Drove up at 4 am yesterday and ended up getting here around 9 then skied 9-2 but by that point basically couldn’t see anymore as the goggles iced up within minutes

My frustration with operations reached peak limit yesterday.... So much so I am considering a different pass for next year. SB has been my home since the AMC days. yes 30 years. But to watch 3 hungover J1's prep a lift for 45 mins and it still opened late. No manager. No coordinator. These kids were left on their own. Unacceptable. This has now happened nearly EVERY powder day this year. The weather is not a surprise, be ready. To have a lift ready by 9 is not a big ask. Especially, since the internal forecast was to be the busiest day of the year. Unacceptable. Lift ops 101. Move people up the hill and spread them out on the mountain.

Now that being said... The woods were a blast. Semi-tough woods/Looking Good woods/Bravinator woods/ Brambles woods all were superb even if they were a bit busy. Kinda like golf. One good shot seems to erase the dozen lost balls. Maybe I'll be back next year.

Sorry for the rant.

Our kids were in the program years ago and they'd go in nearly every weekend. What are you seeing that's changed?
Seemed like 8-10 year olds and maybe 20 of them. I asked the coach to let me go first and she obliged. I don't recall Blazer kids being allowed to go, let alone Mini Blazers. Not a fan of any large groups in the woods.
Was buckling in at Grandstand a couple weeks ago when a skier asked if they could go ahead. I said yes before realizing there were 15-20 of them in a clinic. I walked back out and did something else. My grumpiness comes from being local and now fairly old.

Mini blazers in slide brook? That group is 5-6 YO’s. I have to agree with you Ducky, I’ve never seen mini blazers in slide brook and surprised to hear they were taken in there.

Curious what lift wasn’t ready at 9? I’m assuming something at Ellen and guessing either NRX or Summit.

I don't think our kids were mini-Blazers, just the "regular" Blazers. When they went, they'd bring in a 2nd adult (usually another coach or patroller, I believe).

I suspect the Mini group is just doing the cat track but I agree, that's a lot of extra liability for not much reward.
