Is there a wattage maximum limit that is agreed upon for trail use? I would expect that these electric engines and drivetrains will be getting smaller and more powerful as the years go by. So in 10 years we'll essentially be seeing electric motorbikes on these trails?Never say never guys!!!
In New Hampshire they can get you for driving an e-bake as a habitual offender and you can get months. In the old days driving as a habitual offender you'd get a year and a day. Now maybe 2months. To me ebikes are like F2t Ch8cks or mopeds. They go fast enough to get you into trouble, butt not out. MeowMany trails prohibit ebikes,... but I still use them and no one seems to care. As far as the electric motor bikes - they already exist, but I've never seen one on Mtn bike trails.
but they had more fun!At KT this weekend there were a good amount of people on e-bike. A good amount of them fat and out of shape. LOL
We did 3 days, almost 60 miles and over 6K in climbing. No doubt I benefitted more based on fitness then those guys.
MEOWEverybody had fun. I just think the others are cheating. That's like my opinion man...
I rode 25 miles and 2100 ft of vert today when im not nearly in enough shape to do it. I struggled on some climbs, but kept pedaling. I felt great when I was done and will be stronger for my next ride.
Do you consider it cheating when you ride a lift VS earning your turns?Everybody had fun. I just think the others are cheating. That's like my opinion man...

Want to race? I'm thinking you have me in a ski - off?At KT this weekend there were a good amount of people on e-bike. A good amount of them fat and out of shape. LOL

Me too, I like to climb the stuff near Goose Eye, Maine. The snow doesn't melt until the end.I mean its defintely more work to earn your turns. I usually do 1 or 2 laps at my local mole hill on Saturdays and sometimes Sundays before first chair.
This is a you do you scenario. Get out, have fun.
That's what I'm talking about! (using my best Pete Davidson voice)I purchased an e-mountain bike during my Chemo treatments. I am pretty confident that I can still kick many of traditionalists on my Hightower but the e-bike is just way more fun. Uphill single track is as much fun as downhill, and the lower cg on the e-bike allows for better pier slides on the downhill. I did 15 miles and 2100 vert this morning, got a decent workout and had a big smile and still got some hard yard work done and will be golfing soon and I am not fat.
ya can't ride your Honda on a mountain bike trail, hell, ya can't hardly ride that rig anywhere! Never say never. Since you have not tried these new fangled things, you really don't understand how this new sport works. The next time we are having a beer in CR pub, we can debate things. Nobody hates e-mountain bikes more than a mountain biker! I find it funny...I can kick all of your asses on my CR 125, go about 10 time as fast and have even more fun. If I was to go with a motor then I would go with a real motor. But mountain biking is just that. Biking with your own power. At this point in my life with max fixness the goal, I could never live with cheating myself with an aid. I can understand the need if you are dibilitated but if you are healthy then I am never going to agree with you. Never. It defeats the whole reason why I do the sport.
