Has anyone been to the Warren 4th of July parade? My wife and I plan to go for the first time this year. We’re thinking of bringing folding chairs to sit and watch. Is that a good idea and how early would we need to arrive? Any other good advice is appreciated.

It's an interesting event. I haven't been in a while, but I wouldn't bother with chairs unless you can't deal with standing for that long.

If you want to actually get a good spot to sit, you'd need to show up much earlier than I ever have, so I can't help much there.

Ive gone pretty regularly. Chairs are great to have but the east side of the street is not flat so finding a good spot to sit in a chair is challenging. We eschew chairs because they are also a hassle to walk through the crowd with. We usually get there a half hour prior. There are food vendors but they get overwhelmed once the crowds arrive.
The biggest issue is transportation to and from. Obviously there are the shuttles from lincoln peak but I am not a fan of having to rely on public transit when everyone is leaving at the same time. So what we do is we drive down to Warren and drop off the wife and gang at route 100, then I drive up lincoln gap road and park the car there. we meet at the post office. When Its over, I hustle, get the car and pick up where the shuttle pickup is.
Unfortunately going to miss it this year since we're going to colorado. I suspect any parade in aspen won't be nearly as much fun. enjoy!

We like to travel light when we go to the parade, no chairs, no dogs, no bikes. There are so many people there it can be hard to move around. We go find a spot to sit in the shade if sitting is needed. If you bring chairs, bet there early so you can set up in a good spot. Just remember, most people around you will be standing.
Bring cash for the food and drink vendors. Wear comfortable shoes, depending on when you get there, you will be doing a lot of walking. Have fun!

also, follow the crowd afterwards up the hill to the school. It's a festive 4th gathering up there with nice views.

Tatro had a pic of hauling the old Superstar lift components to Mt. Ellen. Does anyone know what Sugarbush has planned, or are these simply parts to keep the current iteration of Northridge running as long as possible?

Isn't it a Yan? Don't know what parts Northridge can use from a Yan, but that lift is so screwed up my guess is they will throw anything at it they can.

Ah, Liftblog mentions the Poma retrofit, so many Poma parts. Check. Hope they enable SB to run NRX consistently this winter.

If taking these spare parts makes the lift run consistently this season, that is a win.

I still stand by my post in the killington thread though, it’s a complete joke that Sugarbush is scrounging parts from a 40 year old lift to duct tape and super glue a lift that needs a replacement. NRX is one of my favorite lifts on the mountain - as it’s all vertical and you can lap all types of terrain (when it’s working).

Has there actually been any confirmation that they're using any of these parts for NRX? There are other Poma lifts at ME. Or they could just want them as spares to have on hand in case they need them at some point and not even have an immediate use for them in mind.
