They have the combo of Castlerock, Rumbles and the plaza bar. You can order a beer and cocktail at any of those places and wander around between them with an open container. How many East Coast places have a set up like that?
I think Castlerock and Rumbles and Plaza Bar (hurray for Johnny Juice) are all great. I just think it would be nice if they were open much later.

I don't think Resort Maps is around any longer either. I know the business was for sale a couple years back
It was rebranded Discovery Map after they bought out that company a few years back, and is headquartered downtown in Waitsfield.

I don't have a copy of the valley map handy to count restaurants.

Honestly I don't get all the bent over the Castlerock Pub. They usually have good music and I am a regular. If you look at the big picture, Sugarbush has a great set up. If I had a place up there I think I would be a little bummed about the apres ski in the Valley. Castlerock Pub is great but pulling the plug at 6 seems a little early. Going out isn’t for everyone but many enjoy it. Certainly Stowe and Killington have night life.

Sugarbush set up does seem nice being able to walk with open container. Stratton actually has a nice set up with its little walking village Grizzlys in the lodge and Mulligans and a couple of other places on the walkway.

The base are is pretty dead at 6pm but I agree it would be nice if the music would continue until 7-7:30 ish at one bar like the Pub. A lot of the apres folks are parents with kids in the programs and they need to go home and feed their kids and try to be responsible parents :p

So most in here are adverse to going into Rumbles as it is considered to shi shi for their taste. A lot of time we just go in there and commandeer a table or a section of the bar. It does not close and usually has music until 7ish. Usually acoustic in nature but still music. Reks is the the other option in the village. it does not close but is more local in nature. I like it over there. I wish Dino would step up his apre game with music and advertise.

It baffles me why Dino does not attempt to advertise. At a minimum print some fliers and put them on windshields on Saturday., I'm sure sugurbush would blow a gasket if he did that.

Dino is great...but he has some weird ideas at times and seems content to just do his own thing. I'll never understand his obsession with hip-hop lol. But I guess he does pretty good with those shows when he has them.
