Where I am in NJ is currently forecasted to get 13" during the day on Sunday on top of 2" on Saturday night. There's zero chance I'm driving home from VT into that.

Yea...that's another issue. We may end up getting close to that as well depending on how this storm goes.

I can't tell if this is real ' largest storm to hit the US in years!' says the local weather guy. 30 states ok, , cold yeah, but its a friggen foot or so. I know, they need eyes, they need ratings, but the short of it is, doesn't look like it will travel far enough north to help. Beats thaws. halfway thru season now. better than out west . . .
So what are you hearing? Flights cancelled. power outages. Is it even named?

I saw a few on Saturday. The one time the person managing the line seemed to ignore the 2 people standing there for a couple minutes lol. I almost made it in the singles line faster than they did in the reserve line.
Saturday I saw one of the Winter Park Reserve signs left off to the side as if they put it away to groom around the lift and didn't bother putting it back. I also haven't seen anybody use it, but I haven't spent much time there this season.

LOL. Yup! Must be at least 4th if not 5th time (although I think some of the runs on it have been shorter than in the past).
I believe it's the 4th. They must not have hit the seasonal number that will ensure bump runs in May. ...as for Sunrise, it's not going to happen. My guess is snowmaking will be wrapped up in the next week.

Just washed my fur panties. Bring on the cold.

I'll count it on the ground thank you.
So they didn't fix the pipe on Sunrise. That's nice they kept us posted on that.
At least we will have a good snow until May. They seem committed to that.

The blog post mentioning the off-season improvements specifically said it was fixed. So I'd be really curious if they don't end up making snow on Sunrise as to why...

Put the hype aside but the potential is there for a significant event. We're still 3 days out.

The mountain will 8" plus through Monday. Next week will be a keeper.

Skied 3 runs early at ME. Snow is such ego snow, absolutely perfect, especially skier's right of the main groomers.

Now back to work

Really banging on the Sunrise thing. The broken air line was fixed. The post was correct. Birch couldn't have run if it wasn't. My bet is once they finish SB/SF/Steins and probably day or two on Coffee Run, they will be done for the season. But then again the plan has been a bit erratic this season so maybe they'll drag those guns up on to Sunrise. Doubt it though. They are also going to lose some production this weekend due to curtailments from GMP. Being as cold as the forecast calls for, GMP will have them shutdown during peak power usage.

Then leave the guns up there and blow sunrise before moving out. It's not like the complaint is not warranted. And it has been my experience from watching them, asking questions directly tot he snowmakers and then following up that when they do something like move on, it is because something is broken. They are not going to waste time and money moving away and then moving back. Just be honest.

I realize that you are somehow tied to them. Either relationships or past employment but we just want the real story. Just say something broke.
Unless they are just making random decisions. That seems unlikely but OK. Whatever.
