Check website, see GMX is opened. 10 minute drive over, figure I have time for 5 or so runs off summit, faster/better than trying South. Get there, boots on and.... GMX closed, again. Northridge shows movement but no bodies, figure well Inverness and see. Freakin T-bar is faster. Get off and am greeted by a sign letting me know to take the Northway to get to Summit. Oh? On my snowboard? NR still not loading, some people chatting there said they were told 'maybe half hour'. I maybe'd outta there. Complete waste of my limited free time. Seriously so over the ineptitude of what passes for management at Sugarbush.

This same type of shit happens to me way too often when I want to get mid week turns in. I went to Ellen a few Thursdays ago at around 2:00 and the GMX just was just shut down for the day......nothing on the snow report, no sign at the lift.....just nothing. It wasn't windy, it wasn't too cold.....just general incompetence.

This is why I'm at MRG more often.

Hike from Inverness to base of Summit is probably 1/2 hour. I bet it's steeper than it looks. It can be fun stuck at Summit doing laps with the rest all closed.
South was amazing today. Snowing hard right now.

It's going to be steeper than it looks. Without a doubt.

Welp, another powder day and another lift snafu. Gmx down for mechanical, Inverness open but no singles line which always leads to mayhem. Always love swapping an hour of hot laps on a fast chair for a couple of meh on a 10 minute ride

Oh boy, this is getting pretty absurd. You think they would be embarrassed and over communicate but it certainly seems like they are not and could give 2 sh*ts about what is going on at ME. I assume they are short staffed with experienced lift mechanics?

*Valley House will run in the place of Super Bravo to start the day**GMX is on maintenance delay and Inverness will run in its place*
Good morning riders and skiers-It's a powder day! Mother nature delivered 5-6 inches of dense snow overnight helping to reset our already stellar conditions! The forecast calls for cloudy skies and snow showers expected to linger into the evening with the chance for a couple more inches of accumulation. Temperatures will be warming up into the upper teens to low 20s at the summit, and upper 20s to low 30's at the base. We’ll be getting down on 465 skiable acres, served by 13 lifts, with 56 of 109 trails groomed, including fan favorites like Jester, Ripcord, and Elbow. Look forward to powder and packed powder conditions across the mountain today.

Operations are in regular weekday hours. GMX will get the party started, loading at 8:00 AM. All other scheduled lifts open at 9:00 AM. With the exception of Slide Brook which will be opening at 10:00 AM. The legendary Sugarbush Parks crew has you covered for all your freestyle fun. At Mt. Ellen, you’ll find over 94 features on Riemergasse and another 28 on Sugar Run, all serviced by the iconic Sunny Quad. At Lincoln Peak, Slowpoke now has 18 refreshed features, and 7 playful features remain in Sugarbear Forest. Today, Inverness and Brambles will be closed to the public for race training events.

Could be heading for a real Shit Show this weekend

I'm really excited for all of you...seems like this weekend will be great. Obviously I'm bummed to be on the sideline. On a positive note, the surgery went well and now it's all about recovery.

I do admit to having the thought of if there's problems with the lifts, this board will go crazy and at least I'll have a lot of reading material. Seriously though, sending healing and positive thoughts to my hamstring and the lifts. ;)

Was at Ellen today. Just before noon took northway over to inverness as I saw a couple going down it while booting up in the lot. Get over there... ropes up for inverness and brambles for GMX racing. There was no racing. It was ungroomed, there were no gates, there was no t-bar running. Ride down walt's go into lodge to speak with guest 'services' rep. "Oh its closed for racing". But there are no gates or anything? "Oh well GMX owns it now." Any chance you can get a manager that I can speak with? Person gets on phone for a bit, hangs up "I'm sorry but my manager is off today and there is no one else".

Left at 1:45. Still no gates, no anything. This is complete BS. Yes, there is other stuff to do too, which I did. But I've had some epic runs down un/lightly tracked Inverness and Brambles on powder days. Bottom line - management of this mountain just does not give a rats. I had considered enduring the likely crowd at south until I saw Bravo down. At least they did get GMX and Northway running by the time I headed over.
