I couldnāt find a room in the mrv. Fun drive from Williston tmrw morningGot a room at the Warren Lodge. Gonnna crash out watching basketball and get to the lift early. I think there was a promotion at Killington today where you are automatically entered to win a Snowden triple chair just by riding it today. I think today is its last day.
NRX running but still at low speed. Again: At least it's running
Thatās strange, I just booked 2 hours ago. Originally planned to go to Stratton tomorrow
Driving to warren it hit me that I booked for next weekend. Now Iām in Montpelier.Maybe they got a cancel. I didnāt look very hard and only looked on Expedia. Yesterday evening. Checked Expedia earlier today and again nothing right here. Iām happy with my $140 Fairfield Marriott on a BTV Saturday night tho
The good news is that you now have plans for next weekend!Driving to warren it hit me that I booked for next weekend. Now Iām in Montpelier.
Hammond can make any weekend day early ups, this is the 2nd one this season that they could not pull off.
Considered going to north this morning and glad I didn't. Too bad the report doesn't disclose the low speed NR situation.Spent the morning at ME (first time I've been there in weeks). I remember the last State of the mountain blog post saying they fixed NRX but were going to run it at reduced speed as a "precaution". I had assumed that was just for the first day after it was fixed...not long term. If it has been running like this since they "fixed" it, I'd say it is certainly not fully fixed. Also if you looked in the window of the lower lift shack at NRX you could see one of the panels on the wall lit up like a Christmas Tree with tons of flashing red lights. I assume that isn't normal either...
Conditions were quite good though (at least on the groomed trails). Hit both Brambles and Inverness for the first time of the season today. Was nice they were open. And nice they were left ungroomed. The bump trails are still a big rough underneath. Need a lot more than 5" to cover those firm bumps underneath up.
