i actually dislike a bubble on the large majority of days. its sleeting and uncomfortable, sure bubble. its actually -10 degrees outside, ok fine.

my issue is that people yank that thing down on every ride, on every day. i dont want to sit in a blue tinted dome on a 27 degree sunny day. i dont want to sit in a blue tinted dome when its snowing lightly. its skiing. i am there to be outside. i am prepared for cold weather. i also sit on my poles and the bubble down makes it impossible so i also end up sitting kinda bored for 5 minutes because usually i read my e-book on the chair for a few minutes.

Yes...I can't stand bubbles for many of these same reasons. I want to enjoy the scenery and often even take photos while on the lift. Bubbles ruin that. Then there's also the fact that inevitably, they get damaged/dirty.

Luckily I don't see Sugarbush putting any bubbles in any time soon.

Killington making snow Saturday. Adding to Superstar and covering some high-traffic areas near base and other fan gun locations.

Probably not worth SB's while to put more down in similar fashion with fans.

Steamboat's gondola had fairly clean plexiglass this morning, though not as clear a view as the hot air balloon must've! A crazy, hot, fun, limited week of skiing here with another Sugarbush friend. Will re-acclimate to Sugarbush spring skiing variations shortly! Save Our Snow!

I noticed Sugarbush pulled down the live golf course camera. Anyone have intel on ground coverage on Lincoln Gap? Is it skis or bikes? ...or both?

I am not making this up: from SB webcam page now:

  • Our webcams are currently undergoing scheduled maintenance. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Yea...I was about to comment on the multiple missing cams last night when I went to their YT page, but decided to check the SB website cam section first and saw the note about "scheduled maintenance".

Internal email indicated a change in YouTube's policy regarding how many live channels are allowed per account. So, there's some jockeying with how/where to coordinate all the usual webcam views. It truly is a scheduled maintenance situation!

I HIGHLY doubt that SB will spring for snowmaking. Alterra is bleeding this season from the terrible winter in the Rockies. Deer Valley is closing three weeks early.

Killington is going through a similar renaissance as Sugarbush did in 2001 on when Win bought the place. That said, I sense that the Killington owners have more coin.

I'm going up...getting to the point where we're running out of weekends. Next weekend is Easter so I won't be up then (on a related note, disappointed that they're doing the pond skimming on Easter weekend as I usually enjoy watching that at least for a little bit).

May drive down to Pico Saturday from my condo. I realize they have limited terrain open at the moment, but more just a change of pace and the handful of groomers they have open will be right up my dad's alley anyway.

I LOVE Pico.

As do I...my last trip there was the eclipse weekend when SB was a shit-show on that Saturday with ME closed and half of LP closed due to the HG project. There was something like 2+ feet of snow that week, so Pico was 100% open and firing on all cylinders. Honestly could be one of my top 5 or 10 days ever.

This weekend will unfortunately pale in comparison to that if I end up going there.

I only wish that the owners would put more $$$ into Pico as its lifts and facilities are pretty GHETTO. The SB lifts are lightyears ahead of them. :ROFLMAO: I do love the retro Yans, but they are getting pretty beat up. And Outpost is neat, but that lift is on its last legs.
