I just checked the Jay website and they forgot to put the token + sign next to the 4-5 inches of snow they got  . I cant rembember the last time I looked at a a Jay snow report and whatever new snow they reported had a + sign next to it. WTF is 1+ inch of snow ? In fact would you could say 1+ inch of snow on the website but it sounds like more if you say 1+ inches of snow and it's snowing heavily(while thier office window is next to an active snowgun  )!
I love Jay but i'm smart enough to know what a marketing department can do to a snow report. Even the patrol director is under pressure to make the cup half full so to speak. And not just Jay. Too bad it cant be more honest.

The thing that irritates me in Smuggs's snow report is that they will report for the last 36-72 hours. They don't say how much has fallen in the past 24 hours, tending to obscure the actual snowfall amounts.

i wouldn't mind the plus if it was used appropriately. for example, to stress that there are blown areas with more snow such as 5"+

as long as a range is not used. the dreaded range (e.g. 5-10") usually means 5" everywhere with some isolated and hard to find blown in places perhaps 10"
