I always had the impression that he was a truthful man. Would have been good to have him around as this year's election got closer.

Damn, the guy was only 58. He was the only reason I would tune into MSNBC during the primaries. Truly a big loss.

I turned on the TV earlier today and was absolutely shocked and sad to hear about his death. He was only 58 and seemed very healthy. I agree with what everyone else said. The news/coverage won't ever be the same without him. Tim Russert will be missed deeply.

Tim Russert -- RIP for a Giant

America lost one of our finest yesterday . Russert was way more than the average talking head, a very classy guy who never forgot his roots and conveyed a sense of competence, confidence and ethical behavior.

His last words to his beloved son when th eyoung man entered college are classic :

Study Hard, Laugh Often AND KEEP YOUR HONOR

Pretty good Father's Day message for those of us fortunate enough to be Dad's to tell our children

One of the very few people I trusted on the news...

I TIVO "Meet the Press" every week... I watch it while i travel... Never miss it...

Count me as another person dazed by this... A big loss for our country for sure...

Just watched it too. Then turned to MSNBC for 2nd half of 2006 Brokaw interview of Russert about his 2nd book. Lots of inspiration in too short a life. So many lessons offered from a consumate professional, greatful son, and a respected dad. I can only hope to take some of those lessons and live the rest of my life partly as well.

Happy Fathers Day! Hug and appreciate those you care about this day and always.
