We've had a thread like this before, but this thread, http://forums.alpinezone.com/48612-most-popular-mountains.html, inspired me to start a new one. List your top 5 favorites in order:

  1. Mad River Glen
  2. Sugarbush
  3. Magic
  4. Sundown
  5. Berkshire East
Sugarloaf would normally be in there, but I haven't been there in so long, I almost forget what it's like. I suspect Stowe will show up in this list for me later this season.

Ok I'll vote mine and I'm sure I'll get flamed for some of them.

1. Smugglers Notch (the place I really learned to ski)
2. Stowe Mountain Resort
3. Loon Mountain (I'm sure I'll hear a few shrieks for this one)
4. Bretton Woods (I just think it's a classy place)
5. Tie Wildcat and Cannon

1. Wildcat
2. Cannon
3. Loon
4. Ragged
5. Killington

Whiteface, Jay, and Sugarbush are all scheduled on the calendar, so this list will change drastically within a month. Maybe Smuggs as well if things work out.

4. Jay
5. Smuggs

These have 'historically' been my favorites. I imagine in the coming years as a NH resident, Cannon and Wildcat will be on that list because I will have the opportunity to ski them more often than my Vermont favorites. Guess that means I make a distinction between 'Favorite' and 'Best' For instance, I would consider Sugarloaf one of the top five best mountains in the East, but it's not on my favorite list as I hardly ever get there. Jay would be the first to drop from the list above because it's been four years since I've skied there, but I have spent a good 10-15 days there over the years and always have a blast.

We've had this type of thread a million times, but I'll go anyways :)

1. MRG
2. Sugarbush
3. Stowe
4. Jay
5. Whiteface/Killington

I think that as I ski Stowe more, it may move up on the list. Whiteface v. Killington is tough. In the right conditions with pretty much everything open, I think I like Whiteface more. But if a bunch of things are closed at each place, I think I'm more apt to prefer Killington.

I haven't skied Sugarloaf or Smuggs, both of which I figure are candidates to crack my top 5.

1. Burke
2. Jay
3. Sugarbush
4. Cannon
5. Stowe (however, any place that charges $90 for a lift ticket shouldn't be in my top 5, hopefully this will get replaced with Wildcat, Sugarloaf, of Saddleback once I actually go ski at one of these places)
