Trip Report: Was at wachusett last night after work, thinking that all the kiddies and etc would stay away because of their parents afraid of the snow. Boy was I wrong! By the time I got there around 7:30-80pm, I found the lift lines stretched out to Rhode Island. Packed with the under 18 crowd and just a typical friday night... Most of the nice powder that Watatic was loooong gone. In it's place was groomed out trails, (although they did leave Smith Walton naturally bumped up.. Also there were bumps on 10th mountain that looked nice and juicy... though I didn't hit them (next time). Without an edge I was sliding all over the place, but I guess any night out is a good night! By 9;30 or so, all the crowds were dissipated finally. The run of the day (well night) would have to have been conifer with super soft snow. The hill skied fast last night though! Plan to be back next week and then two days in stowe!
