Anyone have any traditions they do to and from their ski trips?

I remember when we used to go from CT to VT we would always stop for Pizza on the way home at this little hole in the wall in Brattleboro. I'm not even sure if it's open anymore (I've since moved to Massachusetts and rarely head up to VT).

It used to be through this little hole here, on the right ... just your typical pizza joint with a counter and some booths. I don't even remember the pizza being any good, but for some reason when I was growing up we literally went there every single time we came back home from skiing.

Here's a Google Street View:

Always go to a certain Dunkin Donuts when heading north. And lately have been stopping at cool little breweries and having a few, and a burger.

We used to stop at a diner in Whitehall NY on the way home from Vermont to New Jersey called the Silver Diner. Great fried clams. Unfortunately it is no longer there. I do believe I may have discovered a replacement though. The Birdseye Diner in Castleton Vt.

My sister lives in Castleton. I'll have to check with her and see if she knows the place.

As a broke college student, we used to always stop at the Cabot Chese outlet in Waterbury Center, VT and gorge on as many samples as we could until we got kicked out. This would be on the way to and from the mountain as they'd have a shift change during the day.

Now the only tradition I have is whatever errands my wife wants me to run on the way home from skiing for the day :???:

I do not know how you do all of your day trips.

Depends on where I'm going to and from but two places have me hooked.

North Conway to Bretton Woods: White Mountain Cider Company in Bartlett. Great coffee, sandwiches, and donuts made every day on the premises.

North Conway to Sunday River: J Town Deli in Jackson. Also excellent coffee and breakfast menu.

Both places will make you a lunch sandwich even first thing in the morning (save for a ski break). Highly recommended.

part of the reason why having a pass somewhere somewhat reasonably close to me is important. Looking forward to switching to Gunstock from Ragged next season to cut 30 minutes off the commute time.

I have done 3 or 4 weekend trips this season and will do a couple more before the end of the season.

I always start at least with the beer and weed then move on to the harder stuff.

I kinda rethought my shroom induced fullmoon night hike at Tuckermans a while back.. It got strange to say the least... :)
