Super fun day. Probably one of top 5 days ever. Perfect corn snow since it was only around 35-40 degrees in the bowl with sun all day long. Ended up doing Lip and the Upper snowfields for my first run and Chute for my second run. Also, my freakin' camera decided that it didn't want work about half way through the day, so I didn't get a ton of pictures. Also, it didn't seem to like the contrast between the snow, sky, and rocks so some pictures look quite crappy.

Anyway here is some beta on the conditions:
  • The lip is almost cooked. Another week of warmth and it is done
  • The top half of right gully is gone
  • Lobster claw is very narrow but still doable
  • The lower headwall is doable but not really that safe (I chose to walk down) You can cut over to the lower snowfields, which have good coverage, but you still have to cross a very sketchy area.
  • The sherburne has a couple warm days before it is completely done. It will close as a whole this year, not in parts.

I was there, too! I'm glad I waited till Sunday to go. I went up with a non-skiing friend of mine as the rest of my "friends" didn't want to go and have hung uo their skis for the year. I managed one run over the Lip and then hiked up Left Gully and crossed over for a shot in between the rocks, I forget what its named. Did you see the guy pull the 50+ footer of the ice fall? I was just above him by Left Gully when I saw him drop in. He had an honest 2 seconds of hang time. 1/2AT^2=64.4'. He backed right up and punched it AK style, he landed soft but fast. It was sick and made me feel very lame in comparison. Here are some pictures my friend got. I will add more later as our server is blocking things.

Sooo jealous...
I was there climbing Pinnacle gully in Huntington's on Sunday... saw very few ski tracks on the snow in the eastern snowfields. I was kicking myself for not bringing my skis on that perfect snow day :(

Great pics guys. I was there as well. Got in a nice run on the lip. That guy that hucked the cliff was amazing. I've seen videos of people doing it before, but being there definitly was something special to see. Here are just a couple pics that my friend took...
