DLP is a good option to save a little coin. If you don't need 1080p (no Bluray or gaming system) look for a 720p TV. Major networks NBC, HBO, Disney (ESPN & ABC) ect... have no plans to convert their studios to a 1080p production.

I thought most networks used 1080i, though? 720p can handle 1080i signals, but what you end up with is 720i.
