What ski area has ever enforced its strict policy 100%?
Hasn't Sugarbush been pretty strict with skinning? Especially on Mt. Ellen, in order to preserve snow for the "Cat Skiing"?

Huh? MRG is one of the biggest promoters of skinning the ski area. Friedman's video snow reports often feature him shooting video halfway up the mountain after skiing or starting a run. When the lift isn't running, they even mention folks are skinning. MRG doesn't preserve anything as last Thursday and Friday can attest. MRG is all about love of the mountain and if people want it MRG says come and get it. It's great.
From the original post, i tought they had changed their minds about it...
...but i still think that if a ski area is against skinning it's mostly because they don't see skinners as customers rather then a nuisance.
Yes, Bush has a no skin policy that they have aggressively promoted. I've read minimal reports of folks getting pushed off the mountain, but I have read a few now. Seems to be increasing in frequency. And yet, it seems like their are certain contingents of folks, specifically bush pass holders, homers, and patrol, that frequently skin and its okay. I recall last year hearing about patrol and a group of regulars skinning to the summit from The Mall when only the Double was running. That was somehow okay despite their policy. Right. Yea, don't get me started on my disdain for Da Bush.
Their policy might explain why their are more skinners at MRG than ever before. Ruh Roh....
Interesting. I always assumed that skinning uphill was allowed at Stowe since the ski trails were on public land and I always encounter people skinning up the Toll Road. The Goodman book directs skinners to take Tyro, Sunrise and Standard to Ridgeview to get to the Bruce Trail.
Last year, I encountered uphill traffic and the people had their dog off leash. Don't get me wrong, the dog was well behaved and wasn't in the trail, but what if something made the dog run into the trail when I was passing by? Sure, the dog might have never chased a squirrel before
