If haven’t heard already, we’ve got the potential for some big natural snow starting Friday evening through Saturday evening. My favorite forecaster Scott Braaten, has published a little dissertation on the storm at http://www.famousinternetskiers.com/.

One of the greatest weather words is mentioned, bombogenesis. It means what it says and it's fun to say too. The latest forecast is for 10-18” for upper elevations in the Mad River Valley. Start the snow bombs!

Hiking Jay area this morning 9:45 - white sticking to the ground above 3000ft, very calm, very foggy on the W face - already very different worlds from top to pass, calling for big winds - may not make the summit tommorow - but I will be the first on sunday morning

I think J tomorrow, somewhere in the Winooski watershed Sunday...unless mansfield has "enough" tomorrow morning. By Sunday, I imagine there will be some wicked lake effect bands set up with the winds kicking and the lake being so warm....and so it begins....
