Hi all,
Headed back to Utah this February after a 2 year absence and would like to try cat skiing, specifically Whisper Ridge Cat Skiing. Does anyone have any information to share. Thanks in advance.
Happy Turkey Day all!

They were at the Bos Ski Expo. The equipment was nice and their rep was hot! She said it was $495 a day PP for as many runs as your legs would allow or the end of the day

It's new and very expensive. That's all I know. Other options include Powder Mountain (reliable if there is snow), Alta (as I can tell you not reliable), and Snowbird.

We have been looking at cat skiing options in Colorado. Many ski areas will bring to to higher elevations for a nominal fee. But we have not considered pure play cat skiing operations. Has anyone actually skied a pure play cat skiing operation - curious!

I have gone cat skiing twice at both operations bear Jackson. To be honest, I was disappointed both times. It was fun skiing powder and all, but the terrain was all far flatter than I had hoped for. I kind of get the impression that is the case unless you book the whole cat and are careful about what operation you go with. I had far more fun when my wife hired me a guide for the day for my birthday and we went through the gates at Jackson for a combination of hike to and side country terrain. Far more exhausting, but much more rewarding. Plus the TGR guys were out there the same day, although on way knarlier terrain!

Don't know anything about Whisper Ridge Cats except that it is near Powder Mtn. Powder Mtn has $18 per ride snowcats (this is on top of regular lift ticket).

I have feelings a little like skithetrees. Personally, I have so much fun with the extensive inbounds and lift served side-country offered at large western resorts that I'm not very motivated to go on a dedicated cat only ski day. I'm kind of a budget oriented ski traveler and it just seems like an unnecessary extra $400-500 on top of regular not-insignificant travel expenses. Of course, if you paid that money and caught it on a good day and had a fabulous experience I'd have to say you got your money's worth :)

I have done a couple Powder Mtn a la cart snowcat rides, and walked up and skied the terrain served by the a la cart cat rides at Keystone, and have done a bunch of the free Cat rides at Aspen Highlands. Highland Bowl is THE BOMB and the free cat ride that takes you there is an excellent perk at Aspen Highlands. Most of my cat experiences led me to interesting terrain, but gloppy snow. One day I got two really great runs in great snow conditions using the free Aspen Highlands cat. I have not done the free snowcat rides at Copper or Loveland, but would be interested if I hit them on the right day & time.

Loveland free snowcat terrain is in center/right bkgrd (close to elev 13k):

Getting a taste (literally) of Puma Bowl, served by Keystone snowcat (Breck in distant bkgrd):
