I hate 2/14 for what it is, but there is one thing that I have liked on that day... Sugarbush offers $14 all mountain lift tickets. I took advantage of this for the past few years, and really hit it big 2 years ago with the Valentine's Day Blizzard. This year, since 2/14 is on a Saturday, the Bush is still offering a $14 day on the day before... Friday the 13th.

Best deal around! Take advantage of it!!!
I'll be there.... working :daffy:

The best gift I can give to my bride is to go skiiing on 2-14. She is as addicted as I am and we have so much fun when we ski together! Since I started skiing our relationship has gotten stronger every year. Winter is our favorite time of the year because we spend so much time together.

See....that is what I am looking for :) Is it really that hard to find a girl who is addicted to skiing?! I hope not

I am blacked out on the 14th so, it might be a good chance to try somewhere new, but local. Pretty sure I have to work at some point that day. Ugh.

So as a single on that day of HELL, I was wondering if anyone is going skiing on that day?? I am thinking that I must do something. Just curious if this is a busy day on the slopes or a slow one?? All I know is I HATE Valentine's Day and I need to do something to keep my mind off it!! Anyone with me on this- meaning anyone else going skiing on that day?? Or is everyone in the fantasy land called Love and doing the stupid lovie-dovie crap?? I am hoping that the slopes will be as nice as they are this weekend!

Valentines day is just another day for me. When I was in a relationship..I'd drop $100 on dinner and $50 on flowers and wear my red silk boxers with hearts..but now I'm sure I'll ski that day and maybe hit up Tace Bell..

It aint easy finding someone who skis...and if you like to hit up the extreme stuff....I've discovered that I really don't like skiing alone all that much.

Here, Here. I've had some great Valentine Day's on the slopes with my wife. I put a single red rose in the front seat of the truck with a bottle of bubbly (for after ski) and off we go. Kids have been around for many trips but my daughter is getting close to driving and when that happens it's couple city again:smile:

Me and my lovely girl will be on a ski weekend somewhere...probably at Stowe, Burke or Jay.

Never heard of these kiss 2 for 1's but I'll certainly be looking into it.

Lucky for me, I am not up to that level of Gnar yet :)

I go back and forth about skiing alone. A lot of the time, I love being alone and not worrying about my slow friends taking FOREVER to get to the chair and then complaining about the cold. However....

Did any of you catch the Letters section of this months Skiing Mag? Apparently there is a 20 something in Southern Maine that they are looking to set up. She is looking for a skier. There is a list of qualifications...thought about applying. I meet most of them. It would be bad though, if I was chosen, to find out she skis much better than I do. I am as passionate as she is looking for...just not so good.....yet.

I have to admit that skiing was one of my criteria in getting married. I don't think I could have married someone who didn't. I used to have a girl friend who didn't and she would always ask me about my plans for the weekend to which I would reply "I don't know what your doing but I'm going skiing". Not very nice. Needless to say that relationship didn't go very far. I highly recommend finding a mate who ski's.

As far as skiing the harder stuff which my wife doesn't enjoy too much (particularly bumps having had knee surgery) I ski groomers with her till she tires then hit that stuff. I generally get 1/4 of the day to do that and I can take my son with me if I don't feel like skiing alone.

Jeeesh, you guys got it rough. My girl slays pretty much anything thrown in front of her, loves tight, steep, trees and deep snow. She'll hike for turns, huck occasionally, and is a great route finder. Hell she outskis me half the time.

She does unfortunately get cold pretty easily and her stamina isn't quite on par with mine, but other than that she's a dream to ski with. I like skiing with her more than my friends now.

She can hold her own in the beer department, grew up on Sunday River who formerly was a GM of a pretty sick western mountain., lived in PC for a few years and her dad's a friggin snowmaking guru. Guess I'm a lucky dude.

Just gotta get her some AT gear and we'll be good to go.

They happen at a lot of different mountains but likely not this year with V Day on a weekend. This promo seems more like a mid-week promo that would result in lost revenues during a busy mid-winter weekend.

The ultimate ski destination for a single skier? Why, Mad River Glen, of course! A mountain that decided to "stay single".
