It would take a miracle from the heavens to even get a 1/4 of what that storm packed 7 years ago. Drove up early on the 13th and skied waist deep powder for 3 straight days. Have never come close to those conditions

Killington was so good it had 186 out of 150 trails open. How there were some mountains that weren't 100% open or Middlebury reporting PP is beyond me. There were things that I skied at MRG that I would never consider doing again.

This much snow makes what happened in Tahoe seem wimpy... Oh my god. Can there be avalanches in the east? because this storm definitely must've caused some. Maybe up in the Adirondacks or in the White Mountains?

Avalanche warnings were set to high for Stowe and the rest of the Dacks. Washington and Katahdin were most definitely under a high avi warning. I don't think anyone triggered one though. Too much fun to be had in bounds for sure!

It was coming down 2" an hour pretty much all day on the 14th.

I had that winter off and was ski bumming back east. I remember skiing horrid conditions all season long up until that point but I kept at it. That storm and the several that came after it made for some very memorable times. I don't think I took five days off between that storm and mid may. By the end of it all I had a right knee blown up like a softball that didn't heal till late summer.

Snow was over the fences on the belt at Hunter for months after that storm. It was like skiing Western snow for most of that season after the 14.

Greek got only a foot, I blew off work, my Son had no school, we made two runs when all the lifts stopped. Turns out there was a brown out. There was an announcement on the PA for free coffee and hot chocolate at the Taverna. When I asked for a cup of coffee, the lady asked if I had been evacuated from a lift. I said no, and she said they were only serving people recently rescued.

Can there be avalanches in the east?

The Friday after the March 1993 Superstorm I went to Mad River Glen taking the Crown Point Bridge and 17 across the pass. Was stopped on the west side of the pass up by the hairpins due to an avalanche. Took about 30 minutes (not sure how long before I got there) but they got it clear. Best day I ever had at MRG.

I blew the tranny in my car the week before that storm. In the evening my dad let me borrow his truck to go to the local tiny mtn. The people skiing there were complaining about all the snow.
