I don't think so. Notice when Heinz cleans her skis. If it was on a leg, you'd be looking at the sky for one ski up. I think it's on her waist with one helluva a lense.

her right leg. the first ski he cleans causes the camera to point straight up. check 1:08 on the vid.

I'm still trying to decide now which one of the 2 elite athlete gopro vids of training runs I've seen in the last 2 days that has impressed me more. Lindsey's or the one that Shaun White took of one of his super pipe training runs that ESPN showed Sunday night. Both are amazing for sure!

This is nothing short of AWESOME!!! The speed, the edge, the air. Thanks Bill...
When I saw the GoPro logo on White's helmet, i got excited that we might get a shot of his perfect score run, but alas nothing! That run was crazy! Bill, can you find that one?

A lot of my pointers are coming from Facebook. FB is awesome for this real time stuff.
I've followed some Tweets, but they all point back to the FB material.

weren't you posting last year that you disliked FB and that it wasn't something for "your generation" ? :)

Considering that the wide angle lense would make things seem a bit slower than they really are, she is HAULIN'. Good find.

Prolly. But now that I'm seeing a lot more venues on board, I've got religion. You must make room for converts ;) not everyone stays on the dark side!

I still don't like the lunks who use it for personal arguments.

As a public service announcement, please note that the video should be watched with the sound turned off.

Unfreakingreal --------------man she had those puppies up on edge

It was impressive how a few times they looked nearly perpendicular, probably a 30 degree angle.

Looks like the camera was mounted just below her right knee as evidenced by the angle of the camera when the guy wipes her ski just before starting the run.

The camera is worn in a harness that positions it approximately above the belly-button and with the breastbone. Center mass basically. I've seen them used recently both at the FIS Freestyle and at the X-Games.

She hit 75!!!!!

Winning comment!

!

There is a chest mount that you speak of, but there is no way that was on her chest. I have made a leg mount for mine before by using the head strap around a leg. That is my guess on how it was mounted. Probably just below her right knee.

Agree. The pre-race prep by Heinz bears that out, as we discussed earlier.

Why not? ICBW, but it definitely looked center mass (i.e. not on a leg) to me, and they have a swivel tilt on them.

Watch the first 1 minute of the video again, while she's on the lift.

When she turns to the people on the lift taking her picture, you see them, on the chair. Your legs dont twist a pefect 90 degrees when you turn to look at someone next to you on a chair lift. Your body does.

Umm... she changed it from her head to her leg while in the start house. That part was edited out.(see edit break at the 1:02 mark in the vid).
She is allowed to do this. :spin:
