Resort or Ski Area: Wah-wah-chusett

Conditions: 1 trail - man-made machine groomed

So here it is to kick of the 2009-2010 ski season, I decided to head out to Wachusett this morning for the 12:00pm opening. Being that I am quitting my job as of Friday and starting a new job on Monday, I figured eh screw it I am going to Wah at 12 and nothing will stop me! I arrived at 11:30 hoping that the would have the lifts spinning, but they held steadfast to their 12pm opening. To pass time, I went down to the coppertop lounge, and had myself a "first of the ski season beer", tuckerman ale. upon finishing that delicious cold beer, I made my way over to the summit lift, waited for them to load us up... and away we go.

Having received a few inches of snow over the weekend, it allowed them to continue building their base. The trail was groomed out, naturally, and was edge to edge. No WROD. For one trail it was pretty crowded. By the second drop (you know the one after the first) you ran into a little bit of death cookies. But otherwise today was a good day being that it was something to start with. I hope with this wednesday/thursday storm, they are able to build more of their base (even with the ****). While it is a few weeks behind schedule, I am happy to have at least gotten out albeit for a brief 2 hours.

Looks like no WaWa for me until after the new year... too much going on until then.

Hopefully they'll be able to make a ton of snow over the next couple of weeks.
