I'm working on another project on the history of the Great Gorge and Vernon Valley ski areas and I am looking for memorabilia from the Great Gorge and Vernon Valley ski areas.

Trail maps, posters, advertising flyers, etc.

Also anything related to the Playboy Club and the ski areas.

If anyone has any old home movies of people skiing at Great Gorge or Vernon Valley, let me know. I am interested in seeing them.

Send me a PM and let me know what you have.

How did I know that you would reply to this post Loaf? I may have a picture of me with orange antibacterial spray from a fall I had on the alpine slide at "Accident Park." Does that count? ;)

Hehe, remember doing the Alpine Slide there when they first opened. People were always going off the first few turns at the top!

Who me reply, Mr skiing brochure junkyard?

I have some family super 8 video of Vernon Valley/Great Gorge from about 1975 or so, but it is just some far away shots of one of the peaks (only one trail has snow on it)

Actually I would always get it in the middle. It would go too slow in the beginning so I would open the sled up by the time I would realize that I was going too fast a sharp turn would be right in my face.

I remember my brother doing that with his camera, talk about an alpine slide wipe out. Intrawest took all the fun out of that place by removing the slide, party poopers.

Oh what colorful ski fashions people wore just 15 years ago:
