Wax on...wax off?

Let me clarify that as... if I had space that my wife was willing to let me use in our tiny 4 room apartment.

If I was living by myself I'd do it in my bedroom, no problem...

I usually use a hot wax roller just about every day. Once a week sometimes a bit more i do a full tune which includes a pass or 2 over a ski tuner belt sander, ptex if necessary, and an edge debur / sharpen. I have the advantage of having a full set of shop tools to play with which makes it easy to get a tune done quickly.

About every 5 days or so...more often on the race skis and pow skis, but not always before each race or storm. I deburr after every day...edges need more attention than wax here in NE. Swix, Briko, Poor Boy...whatever I got for "testing" Race skis only get Swix LF...did use some Zardoz notwax on them a few times...liquid teflon...felt like Walt Griswold in Christmas Vacation.

If it is cold, I wax every few days. In the spring I wax every time out so they don't stick. Edges get attention as needed.

It varies.

I generally get my skis tuned once at the beginning of the season and once or twice again throughout. Back when I skied 50+ days and had a basement to work on them, I would do myself much more often though. I hope those days return someday.

Doesn't the real skier only wax and edge on his trip back home to vermont for the holidays?
