Interesting video from Hertel.



I must say I generally go with the all purpose/universal
wax for rec. skiing, but prefer going yellow if it's getting wet.

Thoughts?

My skis are due for a wax and edge tune for sure.. beat them up hard last year and haven't bothered to get fresh edges since.

As for what kind of wax... idk.. whatever makes me go the fastest? I used to know the difference when I did my own edges and waxing on the race team but I've totally forgot about all that stuff.

I like the idea of brushing out at 30* from center, never done that before but sounds like a reasonable idea.

It didn't seem like he was too concerned with the direction he was scraping. I always scrape tip to tail just to keep everything flowing the right way, maybe it doesn't matter as much on a twin tip snowboard though.

For wax I'll use an all purpose and maybe switch to a warm wax in spring, I'm not racing or anything but I do like a consistent glide.

Try it. Get the all purpose. Get the spring solution. Get the cold snap. Great stuff. Blows all others away. I had to use purple Swix in a complete meltdown pinch at a friends place in NH a month ago and there is a huge difference with every aspect of the wax, from application to on snow performance. You owe it to yourself to try this. Huge tip here.

Yup.. I use the very reasonably priced CH waxes almost exclusively.. So far its been a puple and yellow year. I have a couple huge bars of white Toko universal stuff that works good too. I hate sticking :beer:
