Several forecast models indicate that a low might develop over the western atlantic towards the end of this weekend. The jetstream is pretty well forecast to be down around the carolinas with a nice pocket of cool air sitting over the northeast at this time. If the low does develop there is a chance that the low could hook up with the get and head up over the colder air that is in place. If the timing is right we could be looking at a few inches of snow over the catskills and southern NE. The connection isn't really forecasted right now by NOAA but the chance is there.
"...SO00 you're saying there's a chance."

I'm lost. Marc's post means what exactly?
Look at the NOAA GFS loop that shows a Low off the carolinas and Look at the jetstream pattern...nothing major just a little natural stuff.

You might win powerball.
It's not like I' calling for a blizzard - but you all are aware that when moisture falls from the sky and the temp. is below 32 degrees this moisture falls as snow? And you are aware that such things CAN happen in November? WTF- it's not like I said break out the Apache Chiefs we're getting face shots all day.
Good lord we are a group of cynics burned by the weather.

Don't read too much into it. Marc is what we consider 'special needs' so we humor him...

you're not being pessimistic at all. I'd say the chance is 1 in 1,000. But hey if you told me my home town would have a tornado warning/watch on 11/16 i'd say the chances of that happening are way less than 1/1000.

Even if we get a dump, that don't make us lucky. One dump and still many palces won't be able to open. After all, this is kind of the snow season. If we do happen to get a dump next week and a hanful of trails open all it means is that we aren't 100% cursed.

Now of course, philosophically, some may say it is better to be 100% cursed. That way you know you are absolutely focked and can move on to other things. Rather, it is that lingering tiny bit of hope that forces us to eundure more and more suffering and humilation.

So I ask you. Haven't you had enough? Maybe its time to get revenge on God. You know, group suicide. I mean, we all kill oursevles simultaneously and he would have to feel real awful about being such a bastard.

And don't give me Al Gore's conspiracy theories. The real reason for warm winters? (Besides God's spite) A lack of a really major volcano explosion ( Mt. St. Helens was not all that major) in a loooong ass time. We need Krakatoa to bloa, reflect the sun's rays with all that dust, and then there will be so much snow, we will be bored of it.

Then we'll be happy.
