It should come as no mystery that RSN has made it difficult for us to post. Guess who pays RSN for the free promo? The mountain management hates The RSN forum because it can't controll it. Some of the posters are, were, employees who know the real story and were not afraid to talk.
Anyway we have a new Mountain Manager. He rules from the lifts upward. Hardy Merrell (sp). The guy is a real good guy. He came back from out West to live here. You can tell right away that he was one of the good ones who went West. Not many return as he did. So good luck. Maybe we can hold on to him for a whole season, who knows.
I spoke to him about limiting the amount of free runs that the Ski Patroll takes before the mountain opens. He told me that they have to take one run down each trail. Hopefully they won't track the whole mountain up as they usually do on powder days. Less Otten did not let them, so I hope that Hardy won't either. Will keep you posted as we all talk to him every day it seems.
It would be nice to have a lot of locals and employees posting to let the world know what's happening. The Friday question is great but we have a lot more to talk about besides conditions on the weekend
Me and Valley Girl got new Strolz Boots this summer, $850.00 a pop. I guess we are serious skiers. We will have skied 10 years before they are replaced. We usually get refoamed after 200 days. We will also have gone througt 10 pairs of skis each. So that's one pair of boots at $850.00 and up to $10,000 for skis. Of all the sporting equipment that is used by the public skis are used up at an alarming rate. When you take a step back, a buying a Colnago is no big deal because a bike frame lasts a lifetime, so does a tennis racquet and golf clubs. Might as well buy the most expensive stuff, because they will last. I'v been on one pair of carving skis for 4 years. I don't take them anywhere near bumps and just carve. They arn't dead yet. When it's time to get new ones I'll get the best ski from last year, and so should you. Now that shapes are here all the same profiles ski the same. There are no bad skis made by The Big Boys. By the way if you find big differences in skis every year, go buy them. I'save my money and go helli skiing.
That's enough for now. It's realy warm right now.. I remember skiing the last day of October a few years ago, and still have the lift ticket. Keep your fingers crossed. By the way if you are a fan of the oil interest political party that is now in power " There is no such thing as Global Warming" It's nice to know. Hay the folks in Florida don't get snow, why should we.....
