Hit up one of the LBS's by my office for a new set of pedals - unfortunately all they had in platforms were a resin based pair, which I'm sure sooner than later I'll be breaking as I most definately still have issues in descents and/or rock gardens with keeping both my pedals level and still tend to keep one low and one high and hence hit some "terrain" with the low one quite regularly - Gotta work on that
Rode with one of my hygienists husbands again which as usually happens when him and I do things together quickly turns into lots of BS'ing. Went 6.5 miles in just under an hour and 20 minutes with just over 1800 feet of climbing.
Gotta a nice dose of humility about 3/4ths of the way through the ride as we were heading back towards the parking lot. A group of 5 riders were coming across the Red Bridge that brings the yellow trail from the East to the West side of the Lake just as we were coming off the upper loop of the Orange. We jumped out ahead of their lead rider and were riding pretty hard. About 1/2mile South of the bridge on the 3rd or 4th climb the lead rider of the other group, well she just blew by me and my friend like we were standing still, and to top it off just as she flew by us she crested the hill we were climbing, she took off thus only affording us two glorified adolescents a mere 2 or 3 second glance at her nicely shaped backside in her bike shorts
A good ride, and now I just need to order a set of metal platforms sooner than later since I know I'll be needing them
