Turning is for girls. I don't turn, I do a minor tweaks to my trajectory and only if the obtsacle is more than 100 pounds and/or cemented into the ground. If trees get in my way, I stop my run and strart clear cutting a trail.

I don't understand people on shaped skis who ski with their skis so close together...it makes no sense

Better in the bumps and crud. I'm getting comp-level bump skis this year and want to get the ankles LOCKED. Laugh and point if you must...

Nothing to laugh at. My Cabrawlers are about as straight as a ski can get now, and my ankles are 100% locked tight. Not a d@mn thing can get them apart. Bumps, groomers, crud, powder, whatever... my skis are tight. Check out my tips halfway through last season (somewhere around 45 or 50 days):

As for my type of turns... tight stance + quick short radius turns. Plain and simple, I ski out of the bumps the same way I ski in the bumps. I honestly could not possibly care less if I ever really carve a turn in my life! I like bumps, and I like quick turns. If I want to ski fast, I ski bumps fast. WC style skiing lets you ski bumps pretty quickly and perfectly in control.

Not that I don't appreciate a good carved turn... but it's just not my personal cup 'o tea.

Unfortunately, still an inconsistent turner (I do my share of the "Pocono shuffle"), although I like doing shorter turns better.

I always skied quick turns on the edge of the trail in my SL skinny ski days. With shaped skis, I keep them on edge and use the natural turning radius of the ski most of the time. It's still SL turns but more rounded.
