well...looks like no where. the warming trend down here means a likely slushfest at the nearby, day-trip hills in southern pa...which is all i was hoping for in an otherwise busy weekend.

still trying to convince the wife that a quick over-nighter (it's about 3.5 hrs one-way from us) up to blue knob is a worthwhile endeavor.

it's painful enuf to live in nujoisy as a snowboarder, wonder how it is for someone in MD :)

Magic on Monday looks very likely though I would like some more firmed up precip predictions before making the final call to commit.

NWS Taunton just threw a zinger with their latest; now looking like the most snow will fall in Central NH. I wish Albany NWS would get on the stick and get a graphical snow forecast. Best to just sit tight for another 24 hours to see where this thing goes.
Lodging for Sunday night is quite $$.

Spending the day catching up on paperwork and domestic duties. Just as well, have the decks cleared for the good stuff.

have not. Good time? Even for the non-ice fishermen?

YES!! : - ) Last year was my first winter at the lake. I couldn't believe the festival atmosphere in Meredith Bay. Amazing. The ReMax hot air balloon is on the lake, sausage vendors, a hot tub...it's a really cool thing to see even if you're not into ice-fishing (which I'm not)!

However, I found out last week that I can attend an ice-fishing clinic. : - ) I'm gonna have my very own hole for an hour or so on Saturday! Can't wait. I had a very nice gentleman tell me about the clinic and offer assistance.

Seriously, it's worth seeing at least once.

Not too bad at Jay as far as lift line is concern! :) But the slopes are definitely on the busy side. They got rained on Friday, I was told. So the groomers ranges from icy hardpack to sheets of ice! The famous "jay cloud" was there as usual. So trying to negotiate in flat light a crowded icy run was challenging for me... :( (The woods are skiable, sometimes. Had to dodge rocks often though)

Don't know about central/southern VT or NH. I'll find out how crowded Bretton Wood will be tomorrow. Advice from regulars on which lift to avoid and which trail to hit would always be welcome.

I've never had to worry about lifts at BW on weekends. I suspect it's gotten more icy all over. Last sunday Waumbek was outstanding, ungroomed. "groomed to perfection" describes the majority of runs. The woods were skied out and with the drizzle from the other day, it's prolly dicy. Pray for snow.

Even when it's crowded at BW, they do a really good job of keeping the crowds moving at the quad right outside of the lodge. The other base quad also moves quickly...compared to other places relatively close by like Cannon and Loon.

The crowds will be even more manageable at Mount Rosebrook (yeah, Bode's Run!!) and the West Mountain (or as we call it, "The New Part ; - ).

BW must never have lines at all if things move quicker than Cannon. I would consider Cannon to be one of the fastest line movers in New England for a mountain over 2k (which BW is not but just for comparison perspective here). That is... when there actually are lines at Cannon.
