This seemed to work for Trailboss in his thread so I thought I'd give it a shot.

I would like to get in one more day on the weekend of the 9th/10th before the season ends. Everything around here is/will be closed so I'm going to have to drive. The two ideas I've had are MRG and Cannon, staying over Friday and Saturday night, skiing Saturday and doing something with the wife Sunday before heading home. Anyone have any other suggestions, opinions, speculations on conditions?

Cannon Saturday, MRG Sunday. Tell the wife I'm sorry, but with so little time left in the season. . .you'll have all summer to spend with her.

If Bretton Woods is not too boring for you, they have tremendous snow coverage on alot of their trails + alot of the glades are still opened, I believe that they have reduced ticket rates of around $35 from April till closing??

You're 3 1/2 hours to KMART

No kids?

It's a no brainer..should have the place to yourself

We went to K-Mart late season last year, it was alright, we certainly didn't have the place to ourselves though...

Part of the reason for the trip is my pregnant wife has been itching to take a trip up north before the baby is born in June. She really likes the Franconia notch area, which is why I thought of Cannon. Loon is an option too, but I've always wanted to try Cannon. I thought of MRG because I'm going to be getting new boots and I was thinking of stopping by a boot fitter in Stowe that I used in December...

I concider myself a strong intermediate, although people tell me that I under sell my skiing abilities... ;)

Still laughing about Greg's post, made my day! :)

Keep posted on MRG's conditions. Rain might kill them...

Cannon is a great place. You'll like it again if they have plenty of cover.

Why not try Bolton or Sugarbush? You're in the right general area.

I'd say hit Burke, but they'll be closed. :(

Yes, I recall the amazing magical disappearing act referred to here...bvibert had good form. Better than some of mine

LOL That's great...looks just like me the other day....I tell my son thou, you get 2 seconds to pop back up, or you're fair game to get snowed...

I love Cannon...it is a state run mountain, and the lodge shows it

Very rustic...but hey, you're on mountain most of the time...the gradma in the "bar" will cut you off if you as much as smile...seen her do it to 4 very large dudes once...and they seemed quite and fine..

Anyway....I had a a series of years where I stayed in the lake region or up in lincoln...about 5 years I never skiied in Vermont...

Lincoln is great...Loon, Waterville, Cannon...are all real close...

But I'm not sure at this time of the year...

Looks pretty much Wide Open

I'll try one more time if We get nailed this weekend. Loon has the deepest base due to the snow making, plus its splash weekend. I would be there if I was not at Sugarloaf. I wish I was not so close minded. The basin. .. is 10 min from there. I'm sure your wife could make it in on the Paved area. The Waterfalls will be cranking in the region. Only full service lodge will be the Gondola side. Not sure if the West side (Governor Adams) will be open. I know the Bar (babes's) closes for the year Sunday. www.loonmtn.com

Looks like I'll be going to NH, thanks again Bob! I'll probably be going to Loon, although maybe I'll try to hit Cannon before we leave on Sunday if they're still open...

Thanks for the advice everybody! :D

I thought of that, if I had planned a little bit more ahead of time it may have been an option. I've already secured a pretty sweet deal for lodging in NH though... ;)
