Where are you coming from..Burlington would be my choice; I'm in the same boat as you. I have off New Years day and January 2nd and am thinking of heading up to Vermont the afternoon/evening of New Years eve..I'm thinking about partying in Burlington and hitting up Sugarbush..it's amateur night at the bars New Years eve but it fun..

Strong Island, Boyeee:beer:, Wrong Island, I mean Long Island I figured Burlytown would be the most festive and w/ da Bush within striking distance you can't go wrong. But I may have a bit more traffic:angry: to deal w/ than GSS. So I'm leaning towards the Catskills/Albany area??? P.S. I would be departing around the same time as GSS

I'll be making drinks for amateurs that night at the hotel. Some years I try and take it off and go see one of my favorite bands, but this year anyone I wanted to see were having gigs a solid 3 hours from home. I have to work the day of the 31st, so finishing the day, driving 3 hours, spending major dough on a hotel room, etc, just didn't make sense.

So after a few hours of starring at my monitor I see that Saratoga Springs is the hot spot. Anyone from the area have any advice. The First Night celebration seem sorta family orientated, not a bad thing but the Saratoga Gaming and Raceway complex may be sumwhat more our speed. ???

Working all day at the slopes, then the torch lit parade down the slopes, followed by the ball drop in the bar, then work at 8...........

Bartending! Oh yes, it is amateur night! We always get a bus/van at around 11:30 of REAL amateurs, it is pretty comical. We have a good staff on so there is rarely any problems. New Year's Day off!

After looking at the latest radar I'm thinking of adjusting my departure time and adding Lake Placid to the mix.

Saratoga will be hopping. First night is cold and boring. Hit the bars. Lot of hotties in Saratoga

LP is a BYOB type of town. Saratoga you can go on the hunt. If you already have it then head on up. Milano's is a great place to eat dinner. Steak and seafood has the best breakfast.
