Considering I've only been doing this for 4 years, these are some of the best days I have ever seen in the Northeast.

On Saturday, I experienced every horror story that's been recounted so far at Hunter. I was there when they had no power, I waited in 40+ minute lift lines, I got stranded at the Westside after only 1 run, and had to crosscountry ski and walk back. I put up with it all (except the traffic, I had no problems getting there or leaving).

But for me, with my limited experience, it was still worth it. The snow was that good.

Despite an abbreviated day at Hunter on Friday, it was hands down the my best day on skis. Not saying my skill on that day was fantastic, but the conditions were just awesome. Before Friday the deepest powder I ever skied was 8-10".

Not having a lot of powder experience and seeing as the snow was heavy wet; I'm guessing you had a tuff time turning as well as exhausting. What made it hands down your best day ever?

Best of the season for sure. Wouldn't crack my top whatever list for all time. I'd probably have a different response had I skied last Tuesday somewhere.

I look at it like this: When I'm really, really, really hungry, any food tastes great. But Great food tastes awesome. After the year long snow drought in Upstate NY, this was like Thanksgiving Dinner after two days of fasting. Top 3 days of the year for sure, and probably top ten in the last 3 years, top 20 in the last 5 years. The snow was great, the conditions were great, the mountains were 100% open, and the beer tasted awesome. What more could you want?

The first run of the day on Claire's was rough. I took a dive at least 6 times on the first half of Claire's. But for the first time I felt what its like to float on the snow. That is a feeling I will chase for the rest of my life. After a 30 min wait at the base of the West Side I skied the main face for the rest of the afternoon. I did laps on Hellgate > another trail I can't remember, and Heuga > Racers. It was late in the day so it was tracked out. But the large push piles/pow bumps that were forming were so much fun to launch off of and smash the next bump. There were also small sections on the sides of the trail that had some lightly tracked snow. I skied solo all day and had a blast. Most solo days leave me bored and frustrated.

seriously, nothing extra special? where were you skiing?

Apparantly NOT where it dumped we skied Titus one day and Camp Fortune in PQ -- conditions were ok about 15 inches of heavy stuff at Titus over the period but i've had more epic times in the past .

But that said: At my age every day on skis is FINE with me
