Looks like we might see a huge number of resorts start making snow tonight into tomorrow morning. Who do you see firing them up?

Sunday River, Killington. Not great temps at low altitudes though (For K at least), so I have my doubts that areas who haven't already been open/blowing snow will be doing much.

Not SR. Operations "suspended" till further notice...

IMHO they'll resume blowing tomorrow night, and re-open by Thurs/Fri...

Pray for COLD temps this week !

This isn't a knock on SR's effort as it was impressive, but I kind of thought their claim last week that they were 'open for the season' was a bit premature given the forecast at the time.

They did plan on staying open. They had a forecast that showed less ncp. When I got on the lfit Friday.. word was we did not expect that much ncp. It was rough at 1st on Friday, but after the grooming took place Friday night it was pretty soft and smooth. After the headwall there still is a ton of snow. I got pretty wet Sat and Sun. short days. I love to turn, but was soaked and bailed.

I'm at 2100 feet. It's 33 degrees, snowing lightly, and my car is covered with snow. I can hear the roar of snowguns off in the distance when I stick my head out the door.

Thanks for the update Geoff.

I wonder how long it will take for them to get back online with the snowmaking all the way to the base?

Mount Snow:

"Ok, here’s the scoop as promised. It was a close call since the snowmaking temperatures were marginal, but we waited as long as they could before making a decision just in case the weather took a turn for the colder. However, after the last snowmaking/stock piling effort, our snowmakers are a bit hesitant to blow snow only to see it melt away again. It’s just not good for morale. So based on our current weather forecast, we probably won’t be firing up the guns this week."

Would you want to wager several hundred thousand dollars with this kind of marginal weather we are having? They are saying ra&* on Thursday. :(

You asking me? Guns will be on. If SR opened this weekend..... They will make a run. Really won't Take much to get them enough cover to keep at least T2 going. Playing it smart. There were not many of us over the weekend. Would be less mid week, preserve what they have and add to it. We get iffy weather this time of the year. My guess is they will have more terrain open for the weekend.

Need top to bottom to do the tin roundup mountain cup IMO. too many folks for down loading.
