Good point BG but the majority of the population lives south of Belleayre. Might entice some of the Vermont tourist crowd to stay on the NY side of I-87. I understand people do travel south from Albany into the Catskills.

I might buy it, but I doubt I go to to Bell more then a few times. Maybe take train from NYC to North Creek on weekends when I win the lottery.

That's assuming ORDA keeps things as is. But based on their track record at WF & Gore, status quo isn't their model.
What if they decide to expand Belle as they've expanded WF and Gore? E.g.- adding Highmount would transform Belle instantly. I've also heard rumors that expanding down into Pine Hill would achieve 2,000' of vertical (supposedly there's a natural trail off Cathedral Glen that goes that way already). Could you imagine that- 2,000 vert in the Catskills?!
Would you ski there more if that happened? Personally I'd love to see the rumors become reality. If anyone can do it, it's ORDA.

Will that ever happen?

Most people see that as great news for Belleayre. I view it exactly the opposite - that all a 3 mountain pass would do is draw some Bell skiers to Gore and Whiteface occasionally. Nobody local to Gore or Whiteface is going to trek to Belleayre.

I would seriously consider a 3 in 1 pass. I agree that nobody local to Gore or WF would go to Belleayre, but I would not market the pass that way. I would target the metro market that skis the Catskills frequently; I'm a 30 day a season Catskill skier, but I admit I get bored with the Cats and enjoy going to other mountains at least once or twice a month. WF and Gore are both kick ass hills I rarely get to, but if I had a 3 in 1 pass I would ski Belleayre 2 weekends a month and Gore/WF one weekend each.

Damn, that'd be a game changer with 2000 vertical. But what is Pine Hill?

edit: they should also open Highmount and make it like MIttersill in Cannon - leave it ungroomed or mostly natural or something. Definitely would attract the advanced/expert skier market that has been flocking past Belleayre on weekends to hit up Plattekill or heading further west to Hunter.

Not sure the 100-150" of annual natural will allow for much of that

It snows more by Platty, then that is were I would go, I probably going to try Bell a few times next year when I got bored with Elk( season pass most likely there next season) and platty does not have much natural snow, but I doubt I like the place any more then my memories.
