Saw that in the news this morning. I wonder if he will be put on death row. If so I bet he dies before he ever gets to the chair (or injection or however they do it).
Never heard of him. I guess it's good they finally got him though!
The movie the Departed was loosely based on him.
I hadn't heard of him when I lived in CT either. He's a legend here in MA.

The thing that shocks me is where he was caught, on 3rd Street in Santa Monica less than 2 blocks from the 3rd Street Promenade. 3rd Street Promenade is kinda like the Faneuil Hall, Church St (Burlington, VT), South St (Philly) of Los Angeles. Lots of tourists and Bostonian transplants in Santa Monica/Westside -- surprised nobody recognized him. I probably have walked by his apartment before. I thought he was in Spain in a place like Costa del Sol or Alicante – mixing in with all the British/German snowbirds.

the fact that he lived there for FIFTEEN YEARS is incredible. Throw a commercial on the air for people to lookout for his girlfriend, and BAM!, caught in two days. Just goes to show, people look at women more than men :lol:
I agree with you on the Spain comment. The man had to have MASSIVE amounts of cash. With so much money, you'd think it'd be easy to disappear to some corner of the world.

At his age, I'm guessing that his sentence won't actually end up in reality being a couple of months per murder

Pot is not like any other drug, and I didn't say drug dealers are good people, see the sooner it is legal, then people can buy it from legitimate business and not gangsters. Alcohol made the Mob huge money wise when it was illegal.
Put the weed down.
On a serious note, Bulger was one nasty guy. Joking around is one thing, but this guy killed, and had killed, a lot of folks and was involved in a lot of crime in Boston. No laughing matter in my mind.
A heartless bastard. If I had spotted him I would have gone in the other direction and never looked back. Then call the cops.
