Yeah . . . I was just reading in Skiing that Banks aren't giving out loans to ski areas under 5,000 feet (because of global warming).

Whoever buys it, though, I'm available if you need a Ski School Director . . .

I grew up a few miles from HH, 6th steepest vert must mean something diferent cause it does not have the 6th place in total vert, not even close. I think it's around 1000 ft, maybe 1200.

NELSAP lists it at 1200' vertical drop and also claims that's the 6th largest in New York...

We can start a pool. I can contribute $20. What percentage ownership does that give me? :-D

Buying the area is one thing.

Keeping it open is another. I wonder what an annual operating budget for this place would be, assuming a snow year like this current one.

All I can tell you is with a year like this...you'd better get used to being an owner/liftie...

1200 vert, that's not bad at all. It would be great to see a co-op of this size. Does it have snowmaking???

You're right, keeping it up would be th ehard part.

On top of the initial investment in the share each holder would have to have an annual commitment to spend a certain amount of money at the mountain. That would help offset some of the costs.

It doesn't look like they have too much in the way of operational costs anyway. It could be very much like a little MRG. We would allow sliders of all types though... :)

Well, I could run the snowmaking operation. The electric bill would be killer though.
