My sources tell me that Sugarbush is 50/50 for next weekend. And BTW there are actually 5 trails open (two routes) and one is groomed.
Per the snow report, they will only have one trail not groomed for this weekend:

Sugarbush said:
Tonight, we'll groom Traverse; Snowball; Spring Fling; and Coffee Run...leaving the bumps on Stein's Run.

Just got back. There are 5 trails open, 4 groomed, 1 not (Stein's). The original comment implied that only one trail was open which is not the case. Two routes down, yes and one route is groomed. Not as much as last Saturday. It is 32 F in the parking lot and it snowed

The conditions were really interesting--midwinter this morning with some new snow and the grooming was nice. They let things set up. Bumps on Stein's were shining and within the first 30 minutes ski patrol had to sled someone down Stein's who fell and messed up his shoulder near the top. A patroller told me that the sled run down was not fun. The sun came out at 11 and the snow magically softened. Wind made things cold, but the crowds were low.

If it is cool this week, Sugarbush will be open next weekend. If we get some more 80 F it will be tough. Stein's, Traverse, Spring Fling, and Coffee Run are all fine, but Snowball to get to Spring Fling will go fast.

Belleayre was nice yesterday...many runs open, plenty of snow. Snow was firm in the AM but softened by about 10:30 and was frankly great. But today is the end for the season for them and the Catskills.

K next weekend.
