I didn't make it past the first sentence. I read it and concluded the author is clueless because since when does a medical person determine that a death was caused by intent, negligence or just bad luck. I'll go Google what "coroner" exactly means...

I know this one. :coffee:

First, we look to Big Air Dave. He launches off made down south no spotter would spot.

Always keep out of the way of the uphill skier. Especially below jumps.

Ski rule # 4 don't be a slyboots. It's always easy why someone would a snowboarder. However,"DIScretion is the better part of valor".

Boarder has his back to him, that causes a ton of accidents. Why would someone choose to snowboard with their back to half the trail over sking makes no sense. I boarded for 2 years. It's an inferior way to get down the mountain and they are a danger to themselves and others.

Yeah, it's not like those boarders have a neck and can turn their head to look the other way!

Here's my take. I don't care if you ski, snowboard, snow bike, whatever; collisions are the result of selfishness and lack of spacial awareness.

You want to ski fast? Make sure the conditions are safe to do so. You want to ski slow? Same thing. It does not matter if you are on a green trail or a double black. Just be mindful of those around you. If the conditions aren't right to ski how you want to ski, stop and wait for the traffic to clear

Were they BOTH trying to grab a quick sample of bark from that tree, since from the angle in the video, it sure looks like they both were going to get close to that tree, even before they (probably) saw each other just before the collision

They're both skiing/riding pretty carelessly. Why did they each decide they needed to be going inches from the tree at that rate of speed? I blame the skier more, as the boarder probably couldn't see the skier. It is what it is, snowboarding has blind spots that skiers don't. The skier isnt responsible that the snowboarder couldnt see him, but when you're skiing you need to be mindful of recognizing a snowboarder, and recognizing there's a good chance he/she probably doesn't know you're there.
