I drove my SUV to West Lebanon, NH today to buy a car battery for it and do some shopping. The ground was completely brown once you got to lower elevations. The roof rack was holding around 5" of snow that somehow didn't blow off during the drive and I had a pile of snow in the gap between the hood and the front windshield below the windshield wipers. I had people coming up to the car to grab hands full of snow. The bank teller in the drive-thru did a double take. The skiers & snowboarders were psyched. Everybody else was moaning.

Try the phoenix Friday night. Thaller1 and myself will probably be there. If you go to Barker at 11.30 on sat you will meet some of the regular crew as well.

We won't make it up until midnight at least as a couple of our crew have some things on Friday night... my gf has to work until 9 and one of my friends is refereeing a fencing meet at Harvard, and should be done around 8.

Thanks for the offer though. Might meet you guys on Saturday, we'll see if I can tear myself off the slopes.

Really jumping now, I saw lots of snowmaking and whales today while I was flying to Montreal. Hopefully I'll be skiing Monday or Tuesday.

Amazing what tuning skis can do for you. I was dreading it...being lazy and all...but once I got my hands back on the brushes, scrapers, and iron, a part of me was reawakened. TLC on the boards is good therapy. 36 hours now.....

I built a bench in our boiler room to use to tune the skis.
