Why don't we rent Plattekill for a day?

I think it's $2,500. If 25 of us commit, it's $100 per person. Only 25 of us on the hill. If 35 commit, it's $70 per person. If 50 commit, it's $50 per person. I'm game.

Awesome! Who else? Let's do it. I'll organize it. We should definitely do it if we can get at least 25 people. Has to be non holiday midweek. Who else is in? This will make for a phenomenal outing.

Whaleback sounds better... Lift tix there aren't exactly wallet-busters anyhow... you can do Mid-Week Liftopia for like $16.

We can do that too, but I'm trying to organize the Plattekill trip. Non holiday Midweek Platty is not open, so you can't find liftopia tickets for $$.

Plattekill is also a good option because it's daytrippable from the NYC metro area and a lot of Zoners live within that area. Who else is in? Let's do this. Late February/early March makes sense.

Hell, I was at Plattekill on a nice Sunday, and there was hardly anybody there, for $50. I don't see much advantage.

And there you go..I'm there many times a season and its NEVER crowded..and I mean NEVER..its too far for most as they can hit Hunter, Bellayre or Windham first...

I thought the same...

While I'm a fan of Plattekill, I'm struggling a bit to comprehend this "rent a day" thing. After all, Plattekill is rarely crowded. So isn't it just as easy to name a day to go there and just look each other up?

Sure, we won't have the mountain to ourselves but we may end up recruiting half of the others on the mountain to alpinezone!

I think it's a great idea, but tough to organize.

I'm in if you can get it down to $50

I'd bring 2 if you can get it to $50.

For those saying Platty isn't crowded anyway, well, sure, but 50 people on a mountain versus 500 is still a big difference. It would be a cool experience at any rate.

I'm intrigued, but I'll need to think about it.

I would definitely do a weekend meet-up instead or in addition to the "rent-a-mountain" idea. It would not be the same as having the mountain to ouselves, but with 15 or more, we could get the group price of $34 each.
