Basically, it was just like last saturday except it was warmer and there was a lot more snow. The bumps and woods were amazing. Met up with Mickey again at around 9:20 and skied probably 2/3 woods and 1/3 moguls until around 3:00. I took way too many pics...

Mickey (eatskisleep)= Black t-shirt with greyish sleeves
Me= Wind breaker with white t-shirt under

Glad you had some fun, Austin, was kinda funky season for you. I hope you think kindly of Wildcat as you go forward to new opportunities.

What a great day of skiing! Glad that Wildcat stayed open as long as they did since other mountains decided to close despite the snow-depths. The ammount of snow at Wildcat is amazing. Woods shots where the branches are typically above your head, had tyhe branches at thigh level. Get up there while you can.

Many pictures will be up from my camera soon.

I was at the Cat Saturday morning - not a bare spot to be seen. It's not often that you can ski with that much coverage in 60-70 degree weather!

Yeah, my respect for Wildcat has gone up a lot now since they have delayed closing twice. Also, there is now a chance I will be getting a Wildcat pass again next year since I'm probably going to UML. I just wish it was $160 instead of $260. Why is a college pass so much more than a high school one, anyway? Most places it is a lot cheaper. Anyway I'll probably be there a few days next year.

what happened to UVM?

we were up at our place with the kids over the weekend. All I could think about while walking around the Village was what a GREAT day for skiing Saturday was. 70+ in the valley, some wispy clouds, phenomenal coverage at Wildcat......you don't get too many days like this past Saturday in your skiing life, especially if you're a Weekend Warrior. Hope everyone enjoyed it!

On Sunday morning, we were sitting on the summit quad by 9:20. What a day – skied until the lifts shut down with probably 30 minutes of breaks for launch and re-hydration! You've got to love skiing on a day like this – wake up at 5 AM – in the backyard with the dog at 5:30 as the sky is brightening without a cloud overhead. Wearing shorts and a t-shirt and you're completely comfortably – no chill at all and the sun hasn't come up yet. Start the drive up and while going over the bridges in the Dover area you observe sailboats at their moorings and fishermen fishing the tides.

No appreciable snow until a mile or so below the ski area's parking lot and then 3 to 6 feet everywhere! My only complaint(s): there hadn't been any freeze/thaw cycles to create any corn and on the edges of the glades – snow hadn't settled enough which made skiing there tough! I'm not complaining!

Things were bumped up pretty well on lots of terrain. In the morning, with edges duller than a butter knife, things were a bit difficult given the slickness of morning snow but by 10:30-11:00 everything on the mountain was loose. The lower third of the mountain got real sticky in the afternoon but that was fine.

Great thing about yesterday was we skied stuff that hasn't been open the last couple of years worth of visits. Run of the day had to be Feline. We started the season December 31 when only the Tomcat lift was open and scoped out the terrain under and around the lift. We decided to ski Feline around 11ish and it was fantastic – throughout the day whenever we met someone exiting it, they had the same reaction.

Another issue I had on some runs was when I planted my pole on bump runs, it would sink deep into the snow. Great way to end the season. Another thing, kept getting wacked by Black Flies during my runs. Wildcat on or around Patriots' Day weekend is on it's way to becoming a great tradition. Another couple of years and I'll be a boat anchor for my son given his steadily increasing skills and young legs!

I hated the place. And UML is cheaper and has a better civil engineering program.

UML has a great engineering program. I know a couple of guys who graduated from their plastics program. And its close to home for you. Can't discount that factor....
