Date(s) Skied: Feb 12, 13, 14

Resort or Ski Area: Wildcat

Conditions: MG, corduroy early, some FRG, LSG

Trip Report:

Friday the 12th was an awesome day! Sunny, bluebird, bit chilly early; 2nd chair; everything was groomed except whalebacks on Upper Polecat; we ripped fresh cord all morning; MG-MM to LSG w/some FRG thrown in; groomers and snowmakers have done a terrific job given the hand that has been dealt to ski areas this winter; ROD: tie with first run of day down Upper Wildcat to Bobcat (they were just closing for race training) and first run down Catenary. Made pic of day on web site:

Saturday the 13th saw more clouds than sun, colder, more wind; and more people! on lift early as usual. Still in great shape; took it slow – sore and beat up from Friday; ROD: Catenary

Sunday the 14th was mostly in the clouds, windy with strong gusts and COLD; some flurries; snow getting a little tired in spots; busier day – big crowd buying $25 afternoon tix; Lift Lion, Catenary, Chutes Tomcat Schuss and Middle Catapult skiing great; ROD: Catenary

Ripping groomers is fun, but time for some bumps! Taking today off with guess that those Sunday afternoon tix were upgraded before 3:30. 25 days at the 'cat this season and counting.

Cool, haven't heard much from Wildcat this year. Nice to see them getting some love.

Was there Sat and Sun. Just kept lapping Lift Lion, which was in great shape. My only complaint about Wildcat on days like those, where Folly, Lower Lion et al are closed is that you're forced to go down high-traffic terrain which got someahat treacherous. Still, can't believe how well they, of all mountains, did with so little snow. They were blowing on Folly and Catenary Sunday, so hopefully those can get bumped up again.

Thanks for the TR, I want to get up there, but with no new snow in the woods and all the woods still being solid I think I'll wait for the next big storm.

Agreed. Woods are in rough shape, and they got nothing in terms of new snow this week. Would have been back there this weekend, but am looking elsewhere.
