I must admit I don't follow the "scenic ride" promotions too heavily; I'd rather be hiking.

I'll come out from my cave. So what's with the gondi at Wildcat? It runs in the summer for scenic rides, but they put it away in the winter (not complaining though.) I always wondered what was shuttered up inside the gondi base every time I skied by.

You may beat ignorant me now...

Ah, rest in peace my beloved Wildcat Gondi as pictured above. The old gondi ran parallel to the current lift line and had a pretty low up hill capacity and more prone to wind hold than the high speed quad. They got their current gondi cars after installing the new HSQ for the summer tourism business. The chairs definitely let them run in more windy conditions than the gondi could.
