Okay, folks! I'm dusting off this "Powder Alert" button here at Wildcat Mountain because I think it's going to see a lot of action this season!

A quick jaunt to the parking lot here at the Cat a few minutes ago to carouse with the die-hards just got me a report of about 20" of new snow up on the hill! There's at least 6" on the deck conservatively).

There is A BUNCH of snow out there -- that's ON TOP of the foot & a half received over the weekend! So don't forget to get your Season Pass before next Monday, Oct. 31st (5pm EST)! And don't worry, once the lifts are spinning, there won't be any slacking on the POW ALERTS! We'll up-date the Snow Report tomorrow when we've got more information!
Whoooooheeeeee!!!
wildcat has just claimed 38" of snow since the weekend (20" + 18"). can i have a first hand verification from any one WITH PICS?

discuss.

20 inches at the summit of mount washington at 8:30 and because of the nature of this storm lower elavations got more(at 6pm the summit only had 8 inches and hermit had 14) So I actually think that wildcat might of got 2 ft.
and look what is still coming, I seriously think wildcat and cannons upper sections(3,000 to 4,000 ft) could get 3 ft

cannon and wildcat are definitely in the jackpot range. 3+ feet at the summit for these two mountains is VERY likely by the time the snow settles and measurements are taken. i just question the unofficial rumored unscientific measurements of a few folks hiking for turns being utilized as an actual snow fall total. 3' by thursday at wildcat is completely likely. but 2' before sun down this afternoon is off the wall.

this was posted over on Sunday River's web site yesterday afternoon. It is an e-mail from a Wildcat employee to a guy who posts on SR's board. Since this does not have the typical marketing twist to it, like a Powder Alert might, I tend to believe it.

"It's DUMPING . . . and I would get my bum up here for tomorrow morning if I were you --- my guess is about 6 inches in the parking lot today and more higher up -- on top of about 16-18" of snow over the weekend (that was higher up, 3-4 prob. at the base this weekend). Very different world out my window than yours! It's a winter wonderland! "
