We heard the Green Mountain boys in the distance here at Sugarbush but couldn't see them because of the clouds in the area. Awesome when they buzz the spine in formation.

The whole block...shakes...
I think its cool..others...do not
Bah, the regular flights are no biggee; on 9/11 I woke up to an F-16 breaking the sound barrier right over my place in Burlington, pictures on wall rattling, glasses moving, etc.... One minutes later another sonic boom. Repeat process. I'll never forget that.

Honestly, anyone going to VT tomorrow South of say Okemo and expecting soft and fluffy, will only have themselves and mother nature to blame if they're honest
It doesn’t help though when the mountain you plan to visit (Sunapee) puts out a Facebook post at 4.00pm on Friday saying how great the conditions are, how Mother Nature is giving them a helping hand and basically saying “hey all of MA, drive to Sunapee tomorrow“. When in fact they should have been using every possible social media platform and a huge announcement on their website to let people know that they only had about 20% of their uphill capacity open.

So we had to go anyway for the kids team, so no loss, but give some pity to those who drove and bought a day ticket before they realized what was going on.

On the plus side the Sunapee summit hike is absolutely beautiful with the trees all frozen and iced over and especially interesting when you are doing it in your daughters Lands End $20 snow boots because the only other option is the Ugg boots you drove there in!

Right where I want to be
It was great. 15+ supportive inches. Snowing on and off all day. Great vibe. All trees and off piste good. everything bumped up by the end of the day. roads were surprisingly not too bad. Have Fun.

Love the terrain off of LPT and Outpost.
Had a great day there Saturday. 2nd lpt and outpost! Both skied great. Upper quad only real line and then only 5 minutes.

Heard there is a petition to have the state revoke Fails lease on Sunapee.

a 1/2 inch of ice followed by 4-5 inches of snow. Probably groomed up ok. Woods OK at magic so probably the same there more or less. If you were using Ikon I would say hit K/Pico or further north for better snow

i can deal with 1/2" of ice with 4-5" on top. i was there last weekend and it was mostly ice field anyway so 1/2" is on top of ice so not much difference.

killington was similar. hope they got more than 4-5". they really needed a dump.

I stayed in Manchester this weekend with early plans to ski magic both days and I scrapped it for killington. Manchester is literally coated in a thick layer of ice on all trees and road signs etc. it’s very beautiful but yea so vt got ice fucked bigtime. Was so worth burning two k ikon days

Killington got an 18” dump and no ice. It is fully legit open. You can crank in the woods

SoVT got skunked in that they didn’t get much snow, but in retrospect it probably was a net benefit for Magic in that they did away with thin cover conditions (which were getting pretty bad by the previous weekend) and they have a good base for any more snow to latch onto. If you’re looking for somewhere to ski and aren’t committed to anywhere in particular, I’d stick to Route 4 and north until some more snow falls down south to patch up the crust.
