Glued to the laptop. Just watched my bosses niece (Julia Ford) run. Looks like she is going to be in the top 30!

S Koreans have a couple teenagers that appear to be getting some Olympic experience as they are likely ramping up programs when they host 4 years from now.

Which also means after last night ladies figure skating contest that the South Koreans have already started bribing the potential pool of figure skating judges to ensure that one of their athlete's wins gold ;)

Michaela looked very good!

Still have 50+ seconds of a course that won't be as "clean" as she had in her 1st run to go though! Fingers crossed!!

She had a pretty nice run considering she went so late and the course was really beaten up. Looks like she'll start round 2 and Mikeala will wrap it up!

Yea everyone is very excited. She barely made the team so she has nothing to lose. If anyone has an advantage on this course it is an East Coaster!

Interesting remarks from Mikaela over at skiracing.com:

"… Mostly, my plan was just to move my feat a little faster than everybody else. (The snow) is a little bit peely, but actually I think it’s good. …

Shiffrin said there was nothing too tricky about the course, but it was set a bit tighter than most as a result of the hill being shorter than most.
“It’s about nine to 10 meters between gates, which just means you need to move your feet a little quicker,” Shiffrin said. “Most of our courses are between 10 and 11. That’s probably the trickiest thing."

I'll bet that being an Eastern skier has helped her a lot.
