Woodbury Blowin' Snow

I'm home and sick sick sick. But I'm about to load the kids into the car and drive the 35-40 minutes down to Woodbury just to see the snow. Yeah, I can't ski it today. But at least I can look at it and lust.

Though it's kind of sad that I'm lusting after a 300ft vertical drop mountain, LOL. Beggars can't be choosers....

I think $25 for some warm up runs to get me ready for Monday is worth it. The wife thinks I'm crazy. I think I'm crazy. I'm going for first chair. Or in this case, first rope tow!

They told my wife that it costs a lot of money to make snow this time of year you know...

She got a look at the snow and a few pics I guess. More details to follow when she gets home later...

Alright, I'm a dope. I've never been to Woodbury before so I followed this car right in...to the employee lot. :dunce: This kid gets out and I asked him if he works there but he was just visiting a buddy who does. So I got a few shots from the car (with 2 cranky kids in the back seat), turned around amidst all the skate park stuff, and by then the resident dog had alerted them to my presence. I don't know who it was who walked out, but he looked like a figure of authority. By then I was on my way out but I stopped to talk to the dude. So I played it cool and said I just couldn't resist stopping to see the snow. He said they blew it at midnight and planned on blowing more tonight. I asked about tonight and he verified that they will be open; they'll even bring out some rails "for the kids". And yes, he said it's regular price for tonight: $25. He explained that it's expensive to blow snow at this time of year.

So there ya have it...























Oh yeah, one more thing....

I'm not entirely sure if it was worth the 4 gallons of gas to drive there and back. But at least the kids slept for a little bit on the ride...when they weren't screaming, that is. Our daughter was pretty ticked off that she couldn't go skiing. She's 2.5 years old and has never been before but it looks like she's successfully been brainwashed already by the constant flow of ski porn and ski equipment flaunting in our house.
