Just got back from the orthopedists' office... After several x-rays and a physical examination, it's been decided that I have a mild sprain to my left knee. The knee felt a little loose but he doesn't think it's serious. I'm to continue with ice and ibuprofen but no need to splint/brace, and no physical therapy. He said my knee should be fine in a couple of weeks. I'm not supposed to ski until the pain goes away though. And I was told to take the sled down next time, just to be safe.

So I'm out for the rest of February but it looks like I'll be back in the game next month, and I should be okay for the SB/MRG trip next month. I was told if my knee gets worse or doesn't feel right before the trip, I can go back for a re-exam but otherwise, no need to return. Woohoo!!!!!! :spread:

Now that will probably cost $150....

CONGRATS!

Still gotta be painful though

What did they tell you to do for it?

Keep off of it and ice?
Oh, it's definitely still painful. Especially after all the poking and prodding. Mainly just ice and ibuprofen (or in my case, I've been preferring a good dose of wine on a nightly basis ;)). He said that I can judge what I can do with it; no need to stay off unless I feel the need to. Brian's taking my extremely strenuous ticket-scanning work shift tonight  and probably Friday, too, so at least 3 more days of rest. Then we'll see how it goes. I don't plan on skiing again until March, just to be safe.

No kidding! I was seriously scared after your post. Still glad I got it checked out though. Although the x-ray tech thought she was real funny. She was an older gal and a skier (which came as a surprise, though I guess it shouldn't have). She tossed me an older copy of "Skiing" to peruse while they were checking the x-rays, telling me maybe I could find something in there to tell me what I did wrong.

Awesome news...woo hoo

Awww, c'mon! You were enjoying entertaining me, you know it! ;)

Whoo hoo is right..........now, how can you milk it to get Brian to wait on you for a few days?
 Give the guy some credit. He's been taking over all my ticket scanning shifts at the ski area. That has to count for something, right? :D

You sure he's not just taking the shifts for you since he heard that Christy Brinkley was there recently?? ;)

Dont' you know that's why sundowns been closed so much lately? It's not because of the weather, it's because Christie was spending too much time away from endorsing total gym so Chuck Norris round house kicked it in the face.

Then Mr. T pitied it so hard that all the bumps on Nor-Easter got-up and left.

Little known fact: there used to be two lodges at Sundown. Then Mr. T and Chuck Norris walked into one of them and it was instantly destroyed, because that level of awesome cannot be contained in one building.
